What does VKC refer to for Schlage or Falcon cylinder stamping ?

Cylinders from Schlage and Falcon can be stamped in two different locations.  Visual Key Control (VKC, charge 50-002) refers to cylinder stamping that is done on the face of the cylinder - the symbols will be visible after the cylinder is installed.  Concealed Key Control (CKC, charge 50-216) refers to cylinder stamping that is done on the side or the rear of the cylinder - the symbols will not be visible after cylinder is installed.

VKC is more convenient - key symbols can be easily seen and identification is fast and easy.  CKC is more secure - key symbols cannot be seen by the general building population but can be seen by authorized personnel upon cylinder removal.
