What does the Lift Arm of the 996-2 Trim and the Lift Arm Adapter for the Von Duprin Double Cylinder (-2 and -2SI) feature look like?

Von Duprin redesigned the 98/99 Series Double Cylinder feature in May 2022.
The older Double Cylinder feature located a cylinder in the top of the center case to lock or unlock the outside lever on 98/99 Rim (-2 or -2SI) and 98/9975 Mortise (-2 only) Exit Devices.

This redesign moved the cylinder to the bottom of the centercase and expanded the offering to include the Vertical models but was restricted to 1 ¾" thick doors at that time.

To allow use of the new Double Cylinder features (-2 or -2SI) on doors up to 2 ¼" thick, the Lift Arm used in the 996-2 Trim and the Lift Arm Adapter that attaches to that lift arm in the centercase of the device was redesigned on March 18, 2024 (See image below).

The newer versions of these parts are not compatible with the older versions made from May 2022 to March 18, 2024.

Therefore, if you need to replace an older Lift Arm or the Adapter from before March 18, 2024, then both items should be replaced..

• The Lift Arm Assembly used int eh 996-2 is the same for Rim, Vertical, or Mortise devices
