The device declined the credential because it did not recognize it from within its local database (where the access control decision making is made) and then sent the read info back to the Pure Access tenant.
The tenant recognized the read-info as a known credential that should be approved at that device based upon access control configurations and sent a partial compile of that info back to the reader.
A successful "Credential Sent to Reader" event will result in that reader being updated with that information and a subsequent presentation of the credential being approved.
If it fails, the credential will continue to be declined until a compile is sent and completed at the device.
When you see a “Credential Sent to Reader” history event, it is a best practice to send out a compile to ensure that the device gets the update necessary for the credential to function properly.
