What does ‘Device Disconnect’ and ‘Device Connect’ events mean in Pure Access Cloud?

‘Device Disconnect’ and ‘Device Connect’ events are normal in Pure Access Cloud as long as the disconnect lasts approximately 15-30 seconds. These can be caused by Pure Access Cloud updates or updates from Cloudflare. It is considered normal for Isonas and Schlage devices to disconnect 5-10 times a week, per device, as long as they connect again immediately.

If you are experiencing more that 5-10 disconnect/reconnects per device there are things that can be done to minimize this behavior. The number one culprit is customers having the Isonas and Schlage devices share a network subnet/VLAN (if VLANs are being used) with high speed devices like IP cameras. It is best to dedicate a subnet/VLAN just for the Isonas/Schlage access points.

If you are experiencing extended disconnect where an Isonas or Schlage device disconnects but doesn’t reconnect again immediately please power cycle the access point. If this does not bring it back online please call Isonas Technical Support for assistance.

We are available Monday through Friday, from 6am until 5pm mountain time, at 877-671-7011 option 2, option 2, option 3.
