What does a Warning 80 or 17 mean on a F-Series hand reader?

When you see a Warning 80 or Warning 17 on a HandKey or a HandPunch, it may mean that the lithium battery is low.  The first step is to try a warm boot on the reader to see if that help. If not then try a cold boot but it will remove users data. If they both fail then you may need to replace the lithium battery.  A replacement battery can be purchased at any electronics store.  If after replacing the battery, the Warning 80 does not clear, please contact Technical Product Support. Please note you should never remove the lithium battery while powered up as it can damage the main board.
