What does a red flashing light indicate on the Von Duprin QEL exit device?

Devices shipped after December, 2014:

  1. Input voltage to the QEL device is too high for proper operation (power supply is providing more than 29VDC.
  2. Input voltage to the QEL device is too low for proper operation (power supply is providing less than 13VDC.

    



Devices shipped prior to December, 2014:

Red flashing light on Von Duprin QEL exit device means no communication. Following could cause the QEL device not to communicate.

  1. Make sure the power supply is PS872-2Q (PS873 x 871-2Q) or PS900-2Q (PS900 x 900-2Q).
  2. The wire run from power supply to the QEL exit device should be 18 gauge less than 200'.
  3. A Defective 871-2Q or 900-2Q board in the power supply or defective QEL motor inside of the device could cause no communication.
