What causes the exterior knob on the BE365 to spin freely and not engage the latch?

On the BE365 this issue can be caused by several things. The first issue could be a weak or dying battery, so installing a new Alkaline battery can often resolve the problem. If replacing the battery does not resolve the issue, perform a Factory Reset. This will reset the lock and restore it to factory settings. The reset will delete your personal codes and they will need to re-programmed. If the above troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it is possible the spring inside the lock is damaged. This spring is not replaceable or repairable, so the entire lock will need to be replaced. Do not remove the star screws on your lock and disassemble the unit as this will void the warranty.
