1. Measure the voltage at the strike and make sure 12/24VDC (not AC) is present at the strike. A regulated, filtered DC power supply should be used.
2. Make sure there is no load against the strike lip. This will inhibit the locking/releasing internal mechanism.
3. Unscrew the solenoid and verify that the spring and white washer are present inside.
4. Check the resistance of the solenoid coil. 12V (yellow wires)- 21 ohms; 24V (black wires)- 82 ohms
5. Verify there is no short in the wiring that might cause inconsistent operation.
