What causes excessive pinhole rust to start showing up on steel frames?

CAUTION must be used in investigating this problem - In most cases, excessive field rusting of products is caused by improper storage at the jobsite. That situation must be validated prior to refusing any field repair. Have the distributor or SSC conduct an onsite inspection of the material.

Remove frame and replace with new products

  1. Alternate – If frame is not rusted through, grind down rust to bare metal, re-prime and finish paint per paint manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Steelcraft warranty will not cover this repair if it is determined the fault of on site storage or abuse.
