What are the ENGAGE Wi-Fi error codes?

There are multiple reasons for Wi-Fi errors when setting up and using ENGAGE Schlage Electronic locks.
- On March 7, 2016, additional Wi-FI ERROR message reporting was added in ENGAGE iOS 1.4.11 and ENGAGE Android 1.4.99 as pop-up messages in the mobile application screen.
A spread sheet of the ENGAGE Wi_Fi error codes can be found here. Use the excel "Find" feature to look up the error code.

Important Wi-Fi things to know and understand,
1) The Wi-Fi wireless router (Access Point - AP) must be in range of the lock. Walls, floors, furniture and distance all reduce the Wi-FI signal.
2) The type of security (Open, WPA2, WPA2(PEAP), WEP) used by the wireless router (AP) must be known and set correctly in the lock. Incorrect security settings will block the Wi-Fi connection.
3) The ID and password for the lock to use the wireless router must be set correctly for a Wi-Fi connection. (Some Wi-Fi security types, WPA2, only need a password and open has neither ID or PW)
REMEMBER; All three of the above items can be checked and confirmed by entering the identical Wi-FI set up on your smart phone, iPad, or tablet and connecting to the wireless router (AP). When standing at the door hold your mobile device against the door and browse to the internet. Note the number of bars displayed by the mobile device when connected.
  1. If your mobile device Wi-Fi works at the door with the same ID and password used by the lock, only the security selection on the NDE could still be wrong. Many smart phone or iPad detect and set the security automatically. An Android or PC laptop when connected to the wireless will display the network Wi-Fi security under "Network and Sharing Center", "Wireless Network Connection Status", "Wireless Properties". and "Security" and can be a confirmation tool.

4) When the lock battery voltage is low, (4.5 volts) the lock Wi-Fi radio will stop and fail to turn ON, until new batteries are installed. If Wi-Fi is not turning ON check and replace the lock batteries

5) The internet service provider could be temporarily down, you can check with your mobile device or lap top wireless through the service for an internet connection

6) Wi-Fi connections to ENGAGE can also fail because the internet connection is blocked by the firewall or DNS filters. If this is the issue the building IT NETWORK ADMIN must take corrective action to allow the ENGAGE devices to connect with the host server over the internet.
The ENGAGE NDE tries to browse to allegionengage.com, You can also check and confirm this connection through the building network and internet, by browsing to this LINK with your mobile device or lap top on the wireless.

Portal.allegionengage.com – is used by system admins inside the firewall when logged into the Engage WEB Application

Api.allegionengage.com – is accessed by the NDE lock for firmware and database updates, as well as reporting audits and alerts

If the above links are blocked contact the IT ADMIN at the location, or operate the ENGAGE devices "Off-Line" without using a Wi-Fi connection by turning the Wi-Fi OFF.
