Von Duprin Hydraulic Damper
Since transitioning in February 2014 to a new
hydraulic damper, Von Duprin is announcing the use of another alternative
design. Despite the small design differences, the function remains the same -
to control the motion of the push bar to reduce noise as well as wear and tear.
Both dampers are standard in several industries allowing Von Duprin to maintain
a more reliable supply chain for this component.
This new hydraulic damper (see design B below) will be shipped with the device starting July 1st 2014, and will be completely interchangeable with the current one. Whether or not you receive the current or new part, customer experience will not change. Both dampers are compatible with the device and meet the same rigorous durability requirements. For your reference we have included pictures of both damper designs:
