Troubleshooting Schlage Home App Issues

Experiencing issues with the Schlage Home app can be frustrating, but most problems are typically straightforward to fix. Check for app updates:

Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and install any available updates for the Schlage Home app.

If there are no updates, or an update does not resolve the issue, proceed to the next step:

Reset Cloud Connection:

To reset the cloud connection, uninstall and then reinstall the Schlage Home app.

Before uninstalling the app, make sure you have your username and password saved.

Uninstalling the app will not affect paired locks or their settings.

If resetting the cloud connection does not resolve the issue, proceed to the next step:

Perform a Soft Reset:

  1. Retract the Bolt.
  2. Remove the Battery Cover.
  3. Remove the Battery Tray.
  4. Keep the battery tray removed for 10 seconds. 
  5. Reinsert the battery tray back into the compartment, ensuring it is securely seated and connected.
  6. Extend the bolt to the "locked" position.
  7. Retract it back to the "unlocked" position. 
  8. Logout from the Schlage Home app and then log back in; the lock's data is stored in the cloud and will not be lost.

If performing a Soft Reset does not resolve the issue, the final step is to reset the lock's connection.

Perform a Factory Reset and Re-pair the Lock:

Next, we recommend completing a factory reset and then re-pairing your lock with the app.

Delete the lock.

Perform a Factory Default Reset

Re-pair the lock to the Schlage Home App
