Solenoid on Chexit pulls back and immediately lets go and alarm goes off with red solid light.
The following could cause the Von Duprin CX solenoid ( devices shipped prior to 8-24-2015) to pull and drop and sound the alarm with solid LED light.
Wrong power supply, requires Von Duprin PS873 or
PS914 power supply.
Wrong gauge wire or run wire greater than what
is recommended.
0-100
ft 14 gauge wire
0-200 ft
12 gauge wire
Wrong size fuse in the PS873 power supply, requires 4 amp slow blow fuse.
If yellow and green wire going into the solenoid
provides continues 24VDC, it will cause an alarm with solid LED light.
Replace the CX module.
The following could cause the Chexit solenoid ( devices shipped prior to 8-24-2015) pulls in then drop out with no alarm.
Mechanical adjustment such as vertical rods.
Disconnect the vertical rods and arm the device to see if solenoid plunger pulls in and hold.
If solenoid plunger stays retracted, adjust rods per instruction.
Measure the voltage between green and orange wires at the solenoid connection when Chexit LED is in slow flashing mode.
Make sure 24VDC is presented, if not replace the Chexit module.
Bad connection between solenoid and Chexit module connectors or bad solenoid could also could cause the solenoid plunger to drop.
Check the coil resistance between green and orange wires and make sure it measures 110-130 ohms.
