Selected the wrong lock model (CO-200 or CO-220) when updating CO Firmware.

For any CO-200-40 Privacy or CO-220-75 Safe School lock that was manufactured before May 2014:

When updating the lock's firmware to CO.A.12 or later, SUS will first ask the question “Is this a CO-220 Safe School lock?” The user must identify whether the device they are using is a CO-220 or a CO-200 and make the appropriate choices. It is possible that the user might make the wrong choice and improperly identify their lock.

Ways to identify an improperly identified CO-220:

  • A CO-220 that has been improperly identified as a CO-200 may experience Lockdown being cancelled within 15 seconds of activation if the SUS Options tab was set to enable “Blink Interior Button LED when locked”
  • A CO-220 should have the Model listed on the view tab of SUS displayed as CO-220. If it displays CO-200, the lock has been improperly identified.

Ways to identify an improperly identified CO-200:

  • A CO-200 should have the Model listed on the view tab of SUS displayed as CO-200. If it displays CO-220, the lock has been improperly identified.

If your lock has been improperly identified, the only way to recover is to temporarily downgrade the lock firmware to a previous version and re-install the latest firmware back into the device and then properly identify the lock. The following requirements and process are listed to help you recover your lock:

Requires:

·         SUS 5.1.0 or later

·         CO.A.12 Firmware or later

·         CO.A.9 Firmware or earlier

Process:

1.       Load both versions of the CO-Series firmware packages on to the HHD

2.       Connect the HHD to the lock

3.       “Update” the firmware to version CO.A.9 or earlier

4.       When the update completes, Update the Firmware to CO.A.12 or later

5.       Take care in identifying the lock and select the correct lock model

6.       Allow firmware update to finish. The lock should now be correctly identified.

Select Lock Properties from the Device Options menu. On the View tab, General Properties should now list the Model as the correct lock.
