PIM400-485 appears to lose Link with lock immediately after a power cycle

Whenever a PIM400-485 has power applied, it will do its normal "Power-On Reset".  This reset will momentarily erase the currently linked lock data that is normally stored in the PIM400-485 and displayed by the SUS Diagnostics tool.  The PIM and SUS linked lock data will be updated on the next RF communication with the lock.
 
 
If an AD400 lock was linked with the PIM400-485 prior to cycling the power to the PIM400-485, the SUS diagnostics mode will not show the AD400 as linked.  The user may think that the link with the lock has been broken, although it has not.  
 
In order for the SUS Diagnostics tool to properly display linked locks after a "Power-On Reset", the lock must communicate once with the PIM400-485.  Do any ofthe following:
  • Wait for the lock normal "Heartbbeat" to cause the lock to communicate with the PIM400-485
  • Present a credential to the lock or toggle any lever to initiate communication with the PIM400-485

Then restart the SUS Diagnostics tool again and the lock will be shown as linked and available

Also, replacing the RF module in an AD400 without powering down the device results in the linked data being lost momentarily. The PIM and AD400 linked lock data will be updated on the next RF communication with the lock. This is true when replacing the RF module in a PIN400-485 device as well.

  • Wait for the lock normal "Heartbbeat" to cause the lock to communicate with the PIM400-485
  • Present a credential to the lock or toggle any lever to initiate communication with the PIM400-485
