Perform a Battery Jump on Schlage Touch Deadbolt or Schlage Touch Lever (BE375)

How To:  Perform a battery jump on Schlage Touch Deadbolt (BE375).

The emergency battery jump start can be used if your battery is dead to unlock your door.  Do not remove the battery until you have opened your door.  You can watch a video here or follow the instructions below.

Warning!  The lock will remain unlocked from the outside until you change the battery or manually relock the door from the inside!

Resolution:

  1. Connect a new high-quality alkaline 9 volt battery to the contacts below the touchscreen keypad
  •
    • Listen for the long beep!
    • Keep the battery connected to the jump start contacts as you unlock your door
    • The Jump ports on the front of the Touch keypads will support the battery entirely, the user can attach the battery to the jump ports and use both hands to operate the lock if needed.  If the battery is in full contact with the jump ports, it will stay connected without being held.
  1. Enter a User Code into the keypad.
  2. Rotate the thumb-turn toward the hinges.
  3. Replace the dead battery with the new 9 volt battery.
