My motorized electronic deadbolt latch keeps going in and out.

Applies to models: Schlage Connect Smart Deadbolt (BE468, BE469) and Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt (BE479)

Issue:  The bolt keeps going in and out and will not stay locked. Possibly will not stay unlocked. I can move it manually with the key and thumbturn.

Environment: 

  • New Installation
  • The bolt moves with the motor.

Cause: The Setup (handing) process has not successfully completed.

Resolution: Follow these steps to factory reset the product to complete the setup (opens in a new window).
