My deadbolt latch will not retract/extend

  • Possible Cause: Expansion of Door Jamb. Check to make sure that the deadbolt will retract and extend with the door in the open position. 
  • Solution: If deadbolt works with door open, readjust strike and/or hole to accommodate swelling and contracting of the wood.
