My AD or CO series lock cannot be put in coupling mode.

With the recent firmware update, the Coupling mode will be disabled in the AD or CO series locks after an SUS is successfully coupled to the lock the first time. (see notes below for effected firmware and SUS versions)

To update the Coupling Password in an AD or CO lock:

  • If the locks internal coupling password is unknown. It will necessary to perform a L1 reset of the lock.

  • Change the Coupling Password on your SUS and then connect to your AD or CO Series lock and make a settings change.  The new Coupling Password will be updated into the lock whenever a change is made successfully.

Disabling the lock manual Coupling Mode after initial Coupling is accomplished, eliminates the ability for rogue SUS devices to couple with the lock and take control of it.

Allowing the SUS to update the Coupling Password provides the Site Administrator to easily update their Coupling Password in their locks, without the need continuously changing the SUS Coupling Password from the previous to the new Coupling Password at each lock in their facility.

Never leave your locks with the default Coupling Password ... Any SUS would then be able to take control of your locks.
