Magnetic Cards will read intermittently or will not read at all, when reading data on Track 1 or Track 3
When Track 1 or Track 3 data read is selected and no data is present on track 2 , ensure that "Enable Low Power Wake-Up" is de-select the Credential Reader settings.
Failure to do so will result on no reads. Since no data is on track the wake trigger will not occur.
The "Enable Low Power Wake-Up" setting is found in the Schlage Utility Software (SUS), "Device Options/Reader" screen.
Early versions of the Schlage Utility Software (SUS) always enabled - defaulted - the "Enable Low Power Wake-Up" to provide the customer with the best possible battery life. With Schlage Utility Software (SUS) version 4.0.0 and higher, the "Enable Low Power Wake-Up" setting is now automatically deselected when the credential reader data track is changed from Track 2.
If a site also has data on Track 2 (for every card holder), they can re-set the "Low Power Wake-Up" setting to use Track 2 to help conserve battery power.
