PIM's communicate on a frequency band of 902 MHz to 928 MHz. The Dipswitches on the PIM establish what frequency range the PIM uses . Basically channel 1 is at the low end of the frequency spectrum (902 MHz) and channel 15 is at the high end of the frequency spectrum (928 MHz). The other remaining channel 2-14 even split the remaining frequency spectrum equally in the between the range (902 MHz to 928 MHz). If a PIM is having trouble communicating with a WAPM, the first suggest troubleshooting tip is to relink the WAPM to the PIM on a different channel. There may be other devices on site that are communicating on the same frequency of the PIM which is causing interference with the communication between the WAPM and the PIM. If changing the channel and relinking does not seem to solve the issue significantly, then it is possible to take the next step which is to enable DCS (Dynamic Channel Switching).
