The wiring is the same for all of the new wall mounted readers and are listed in the table below.
- The Wiegand data wires are Green(D0) and White(D1). For readers that are configured for clock and data output, the Green(Data) and White(Clock) are also used.
- The Power wire is Red and is connected to (+5 to +16 VDC)
- The Ground and Shield wires are connected to ground.
- The remaining wires are not controlled by Wiegand and if used must be controlled by the control panel. They are controlled by placing an active low on the input (wire) of the reader.
- Placing an active low on the Orange wire controls the Green LED, Brown wire controls the Red LED and Yellow wire controls the Beeper.
- Placing an active low on both the Green LED and RED LED wires mixes the two colors resulting in an Amber LED.
- If the Tamper is enabled then the reader will output an active low on its output (gray) wire (available as Dry Contact Output as needed) that the control panel can read.
- The Blue wire (in the wiring harness) is not used on the new readers; but is used with the Legacy readers to control the Beeper.
- The
RS485 OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol) also has two lines of
communication between the reader and the control panel. They are pink
and tan. These wires are only active when the reader is ordered with the RS485 option.
