The FIPS 201-1 standard has been replaced by FIPS 201-2. The new standard no longer defines specific credentials, readers or locks as compliant. Instead, only complete, networked solutions developed through Physical Access Control Software (PACS) providers that are tested and approved by the Government can be compliant. As a standalone lock the AD-201 cannot be part of a network solution. However, the AD-201 lock can be upgraded to a wireless networked lock that is FIPS 201-2 integration-ready by replacing the reader with an up-to-date FMK reader, updating the firmware and adding a COM400 module.
