The 98/9952 Pool Gate Device can be ordered with either the EO (Exit Only, no trim), L (with a 252L Lever Trim, cylinder locks/unlocks the lever) or L-BE (with a 252L-BE Passage Lever Trim).
The 252L and 252L-BE :Lever Trims are mounted higher on the gate than the exit device as required by some local codes concerning pull side hardware that is not self-locking on pool enclosures.
If the 98/9952 Pool Gate Device is being used in an application that does not require the outside trim to be mounted higher than the exit device, the standard trims for the 98/99 Rim Exit Devices can be used. The 98/9952 Pool Gate device should be ordered as Exit Only (EO) and the trim would need to be ordered as a separate item. On the 990 and 996 Series Trims, be sure to indicate -R/V in the description to get the version used with Rim or Vertical devices (examples: 996L-NL-R/V or 990NL-R/V).
