The handing of the 914KIL's of all types is accomplished by flipping the entire trim over and checking that the tailpiece is oriented properly for the device involved as shown on the label on the back of the trim and on page 1 of the Actuator Setting, Re-Keying, and Function Change Instructions.
Page 2 of the instructions above shows how to remove the cylinder to re-key or replace it.
The regular 914KIL can be changed from L function to NL function or from NL function to L function by following the steps indicated on page 2 of the same instructions above.
The 914KIL-IC cannot be set for NL function (nor is the IC version offered in NL function).
