The LX switch used in 98/99 Rim and Vertical Rod devices would not monitor the condition of the latchbolt of 98/9975 Mortise device.
When Latchbolt Monitoring is desired with the 98/9975, the device must be specified/ordered with either the SS7500 Mortise Lock, which has monitor switches, or the E7500 Mortise Lock, which has monitor switches and a solenoid to electrically lock/unlock the outside TP, K, or L trim.
Note that the Latchbolt Monitor switch in the SS7500 and E67500 Mortise Locks indicate when the Latchbolt is fully extended and deadlocked.
If the latch is not fully extended it cannot be deadlocked.
If the latch is not deadlocked it is not secure.
Therefore it is more important to know that the latch is both fully extended and deadlocked
