If you have a master key and "sub" master keys could it lower the security?
Yes, as long as the key is not stamped "do not duplicate" and the store has the correct key blank. Residential Master Keys use the same key blanks as our standard keyed locks.
Residential Master Key (RMK) is a permanent key which will work in addition to the homeowner or renter key. These are 5 pin only.
There is no "sub" master key.
A master key does not lower the security of a lock, it simply allows two different key combinations to open the same lock.
