Is a letter of authorization required for the BOCA option on a delayed egress maglock?

The standard BOCA delayed egress time is 15 seconds and a letter from the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) is not required, only the 30-second delay maglock request requires a letter to provide validation for ordering a delayed egress maglock with the delayed egress set to 30 seconds instead of 15 seconds.

The dealer needs to submit a letter from the AHJ, generally the local fire marshal, along with the PO for the 30 second delayed egress M490DE or M490DEPlus maglock  that the end user customer is authorized to use the  extended 30 second delayed BOCA system in their location.
