Importing users to Pure Access cloud that will use AD connect.

Can I import a user CSV if I am planning to eventually connect the AD Connect (Active Directory) Sync tool?

Yes you can, but it is not recommended.  When users are created by Pure Access, there is no link or handle for those users upon an Active Directory Sync.  AD Connect users are created with a hidden GUID value that is used as a handle.  If AD Connect begins to sync, it looks for all users with a GUID, to ensure it knows who is already synced, and what existing profiles have changes, or need to be created. 

If a user in Pure Access does not have a GUID value, then AD Connect ignores this user. These users are then possibly duplicated when AD Connect syncs. 

Ex: A manually created “John Smith”, having no AD GUID value, will be duplicated if “John Smith” also exists within Active Directory.
