Importing database data into Schlage Express

Database data cannot be imported directly into Schlage Express.
Create an exported data file from your database for Schlage Express User data import as an intermediate step.
Either CSV (Comma Separated Values) or TAB delimited file types can be used to create the text file used to import User information into Schlage Express.

When trying to import database files from a .CSV file if the file is opened, edited and saved as an Excel spreadsheet may cause problems because of the saved formatting that Excel can put on the cells data when dealing with numbers.

Schlage Express may have an import error with CSV files that have unrecognized special characters, so it may be necessary to use Excel to edit the format of the cells so it views all number values as TEXT data only, not a type of number, and then save the file again.

If this does not work you may need to change the file to a tab delimited .TXT file.  If that is the case you will need to go to "Save as Text" in Excel so that you can import the database file properly.
