I received the message “Security Failure” when trying to set up my Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt.

First, perform a Factory Default Reset. Next, close the app, turn off Bluetooth (swipe up from the bottom of the screen, tap the Bluetooth icon). Turn Bluetooth back on. Reopen the app. Attempt to set up the Schlage Sense lock again. 

Things to check:

  • Ensure you are using the 8-digit Setup Code provided on the back of the lock and on the front cover of the User’s Guide. 
  • Ensure you are near the lock you wish to set up and that the lock is connected to four new AA batteries.
