How to use Keypad Emergency Key Override

If the battery fails or there's an electronic error on your Schlage keypad deadbolt, you can manually unlock it using the mechanical key override. If you've lost your key and need immediate access to your home, consider contacting a local locksmith for assistance.

Note: Please be aware that Schlage is not responsible for any locksmith fees.

Schlage Keypad Deadbolt:

1. Insert the Key: Insert the key into the keyhole located on the deadbolt lock.
2. Rotate the Key: Turn the key 90 degrees clockwise to unlock the deadbolt.
3. Unlock the Door: Push the deadbolt latch to open the door.
4. Return the Deadbolt: Rotate the deadbolt latch back to its original position.
5. Remove the Key: Turn the key back 90 degrees counterclockwise and remove it from the keyhole.

Schlage Keypad Lever:

1. Insert the Key: Insert the key into the keyhole located on the lever lock.
2. Rotate the Key: Turn the key 270 degrees clockwise to unlock the lever.
3. Lift the Lever: Once the key is turned, lift the lever to open the door.
4. Return the Lever: Rotate the lever back to its original position.
5. Remove the Key: Turn the key back 270 degrees counterclockwise and remove it from the keyhole.
