How to Update the Firmware on Your Schlage Arrive Smart Lock

The Schlage Arrive lock automatically updates its Firmware every day between 1 and 3 AM. The lock will download the latest Firmware from the cloud as long as it is paired with the Schlage Home app and has a strong Wi-Fi connection.

Manually Update the Firmware:

If you are at the lock without your phone or using the lock manually without any connectivity, you can manually update the Firmware:

1. Press the interior button 5 times rapidly. 
   
    
2. The lock will begin the Firmware update

Updating Firmware via the Schlage Home App:

There are two options for updating the Firmware using the Schlage Home app: via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Option 1: Update via Bluetooth:

Note: Locks paired via Bluetooth can only update the Firmware through Bluetooth

1. Open the Schlage Home app.
2. Navigate to the lock you’d like to update.
3. Press the three dots next to the lock name.
4. Select "Lock Settings" and then "Firmware Settings" from the menu.
5. Press "Update Now".
6. Allow the Firmware to update.
    
   • Keep the app open and your phone close to the lock during the process.
   • The update can take approximately 15-20 minutes.

Option 2: Update via Wi-Fi:

Note: Locks paired via Wi-Fi can only update the Firmware through Wi-Fi

1. Open the Schlage Home app.
2. Navigate to the lock you’d like to update.
3. Press the three dots next to the lock name.
4. Select "Lock Settings" and then "Firmware Settings" from the menu.
5. Press "Update Now".
6. Allow the Firmware to update.
    
   • The update can take approximately 10 minutes.
   • There is no need to keep the app open or stay near the lock during this process.
