A 26 bit Weigand Format is standard. It is one of the selections of the setup menu. The output data transmits from terminals marked Data 1, Data 2 and Ground. The first bit transmitted or received is even parity over the next 12 bits. The last bit is odd parity over the proceeding 12 bits. The 2ND through 9th bits are the assigned facility code with the
2ND bit most significant. The 10th though 25th bits are the ID number with the 10th bit most significant. The card reader emulation port (D1, D2 and GND) transmits Weigand data with a pulse width of 100 microseconds and an interpulse period of 1200 microseconds.

The HandKey will accept a 26 bit input from an external card reader. The card reader may be 5VDC or 12VDC. Other standard output protocols available are ABA (ANSI) track 2 magstripe with 10 character ID field and code 39 bar code.
Turn on the Weigand output with keypad commands: Go to the setup menu (Group 2). Go to READER OUTPUT MODE. Answer * (no) to LOCK & AUX. Answer # (yes) to CRD RDR OUT. Exit menu. Connect D0, D1 and GND to access control panel. Test by verifying. If it does not function, reverse D0 and D1. It will not damage the unit or the access control.
