How to terminate RS-485 data lines for third party panels

Use or do whatever Panel manufacturer recommends and uses regarding RS-485 wiring and termination.  The IR documentation purposely does not address RS-485 wiring and termination issues since this is controlled by the RS-485 EIA specification and the wiring topology used.

 

J19 and J20 are jumpers that determine if the RS-485 interface is 2-wire or 4-wire.  There are no RS-485 termination resistors provided on the any of the AD RS-485 products.
