How to program Aux Out Control on the F-Series Handkey

Resolution:

let's say you choose auxiliary output 1 to trigger your alarm on a valid handread;

this is how you would configure it:

 

  as a user with a valid PIN and authority level 2 or higher,

  - press 'clear' then 'enter' in rapid succession

  - enter your PIN number, then press 'enter'; place your hand for verification

  handreader display:                 action:

 " ENTER PASSWORD" press '2', then 'enter'

 " SET LANGUAGE"                  keep pressing 'No' until you see:

 " AUX OUT CONTROL"             press 'yes'

 "AUX 0/1/2?                             press '1'  (this is where you choose which output you will be configuring)

 " AUX SET BY TIME ZONE"      keep pressing 'enter' until you see

 " UNLOCK "                             press 'yes' then 'enter'

 " AUX CLEARED BY TIMER"    type in the number of seconds that you want the output to be triggered for (duration of trigger in seconds), then press 'enter'; for example, '2' would turn on the auxiliary output 1 for 2 seconds on a valid handread

 " VALID ACCESS "                   press 'yes', then keep pressing 'clear' until you're back to

 " READY".

 

To verify if this is working, measure the DC voltage between a ground and aux 1 output (pins 4 & 7); you should read something between 4 and 5 volts DC.

Keep the voltmeter attached to these outputs while you have someone verify a hand at the front of the handreader.

As soon as the handreader verifies the ID and hand, the output voltage should drop to zero for the duration that you specified under 'AUX CLEARED BY TIMER' in seconds; then the voltage should go back up to the original value it had at idle state.
