To reset an Advanced Security Module (ASM) locate the reset pinhole on the same side of the ASM as the two LEDs (one LED is constant red showing 12vDc power and the other will flash green when the ASM relay is triggered).
Insert a paperclip straight-down into the pinhole and press-down the reset button (you can feel the button depress) until the LED showing relay activity turns green and then goes out again (about 5 or 6 seconds).
Go through the pairing process in the Pure Access software.
Test that the ASM is reset and paired with the reader-controller by scanning a valid credential or by sending an Admit command through Pure Access. The reader-controller will turn green for the set latch interval and the relay activity LED on the ASM with also flash green when paired correctly with the reader-controller.
The Advanced Security Module (ASM) was previously called an External Door Kit (EDK).
NOTE: After completing the pairing process in Pure Access software, the access point will be set to either Locked or Unlocked, depending on which state was selected at the start of the process. Once you have confirmed that the pairing was successful, send a “Schedule” command to the access point to set it back to the normal operating state where it follows the configured weekly rules.
