How to do a firmware upgrade on the IR ethernet card (EN-200 & EN-100, new smaller / square version), for E- and F-series handreaders

Resolution:

Download the ethernet firmware from:

 

ftp://108.227.164.107/

username: techservice

password: serviceftp

 

select the EN200firmwaredownloader folder and download each file,

-       Make sure you run this on a 32-bit PC only

then double-click and run through the ‘setup.exe’ file,

then double-click on the EN200firmwaredownloader.exe file, fill in the reader’s IP address (leave the ‘Reader Address’ as 0 ) and click on the ‘Contact Reader’ button.

-       Verify that the logged in Windows user has administrative rights; if that doesn’t work, try to right-click on EN200firmwaredownloader.exe and choose ‘run as administrator…’

when it connects, make sure to be in the ‘Program EN200’ tab and click on the ‘Status Poll’ button:

   - this will show your firmware version, under ‘Program Version Minor’; please let us know what your current version is, before you upgrade (in case this upgrade doesn’t help);

  - click on the ‘Stop’ button when done.

 To upgrade your firmware or to apply the update fix, locate the ‘Program File:’ field, to the left of the ‘Program’ button

There should be a filename “THAP2_1.hex” in there; if it doesn’t, then stop and call tech support at 877-671-7011 option 2 then option 8.

If you do see “THAP2_1.hex”, then click on the ‘Program’ button and wait for the top line “Program Condition” to read “OK”;

you can see the program status under the “Status” field, as well.

 

Now connect your reader to your handreader software and let us know if you still see any issues.
