BE367 in a default state will store first programming RED iButton presented. Another Red ibutton cannot be added. The registered RED Programming iButton is used to put the lock into programming mode.
A BE367 can work with any number of HHDs, the Coupling feature does not apply to legacy products, (the HHD coupling security code replaces the programming credential in AD & CO lock products) but one SMS Express system has only one HHD; so normally, one HHD, CIP, and RED Programming iButton are all paired for a site facility.
RED Programming iButtons can be replaced at the lock only by Resetting the lock back to Factory Default… and this is only done if a RED Programming iButton has been lost and needs to be replaced for the site.
If a single management company has separate physical sites, then segmenting these sites by having their own RED Programming iButton per site is useful, and if these sites are any significant distance from each other, then it is recommended that each site also have their own SMS Express system, HHD, CIP, and RED Programming iButton; experience has shown that managing lock programming at a distance is not efficient or responsive to individual site changes and requirements.
