M996L/L-BE Summary:
The Von Duprin M996L/L-BE trim is a motorized, electrified trim which can be locked or unlocked remotely.
The trim can be field configured as Fail Safe or Fail Secure, and automatically operates at either 12VDC or 24VDC.

What Does Inrush Current Mean?
When M996L is powered, a 600ms "inrush" current is needed to charge a capacitor on the trim's circuit board.
Inrush current varies based upon power supply voltage and FS/FSE operation.
The capacitor ensures the trim will transition to the correct locked/unlocked state upon power loss.
Inrush currents impact the total number of M996 which can be connected to a power supply. The limits primarily impact Fail Secure M996L.
How Many M996L Can Be Operated On An Allegion Power Supply?

Because of minimal inrush current, the power supply can operate a quantity of M996 based on the calculation : PS Current / Inrush Current.

How Many M9996L Can I Connect To non-Allegion Power Supplies?
Testing has not been done on any power supplies by other manufacturers.
General guidance is that the total inrush current should under power supply maximum rating. However, Allegion can not confirm quantities or performance using other supplies.
