How is the rose installed on a Falcon MA mortise lock with Latitude (LAT) or Longitude (LON) trim?

Falcon MA mortise lock levers are typically designed so that the rose or escutcheon can be slipped on over the lever and spring cage and then secured in place.

However, the Latitude (LAT) and Longitude (LON) lever designs do not permit the rose or escutcheon to fit over them.  These two levers are equipped with set screws so that the lever can be separated from the spring cage portion of the assembly.

  1. Secure the spring cage assembly to the mounting posts and then to the door.
  2. Install the rose or escutcheon over the spring cage assembly.
  3. Attach the lever to the spring cage assembly using the set screw

See the following snip from the Falcon MA installation instructions illustrating this process.
