How is Schlage split key construction keying ordered?

To specify Schlage split key construction keying on a line item of cylinders or locks, use the symbol CK.  You can also specify by citing the 50-211 charge (the service charge which is applied to cylinders that are split key construction keyed.)

  • The cylinder(s) will be shipped with the construction insert (tip half of the key with last 3 cuts) pre-installed in the cylinder.  Since the insert is pre-installed, the operating keys that normally ship with the cylinder will be packed independently (PKI).  
  • The construction key (bow half of the key with first 3 cuts - the key used by construction personnel) needs to be ordered as a separate line item.  
  • One extractor tool (hook shaped tool used to remove the insert at the end of the construction phase) will automatically be added to and shipped with the order.  If you want more extractor tools or do not want any extractor tools, please indicate that on the PO.
