How do you measure sleep current on a Control lock (BE467 / FE410)?
To check the sleep current on a control lock:
1)Remove the inside escutcheon to expose the batteries
2)Slightly remove the top of the battery to disconnect the power to the lock, but the batteries are still in the battery case. I typically remove the batteries on the right-hand side
3)Using a volt meter set to measure current (DC mA), touch the top of the exposed battery and the top of the battery terminal to complete the circuit. See attached picture for reference.
4)Hold the volt meter until the lock finishes powering up, and the current drops to a level below 20 mA. A good sleep current level will be less than 0.1 mA.
