Considerations For Selecting An Automatic Door Bottom

There are many factors that should be taken into consideration when choosing an Automatic Door Bottom.
Below is a summary of questions to ask.  Please contact Allegion support at 877-671-7011, option 2,  for additional assistance.


What are you sealing for?

  • If you want to seal against draft and/or daylight, a Zero light duty ADB will most likely be appropriate.
  • If you are looking for an acoustic seal, you will need to choose a Zero heavy duty ADB.  

 

What type of door is being used?

  • For a concealed ADB, you can use a Zero mortise ADB solution.  Your door will need to be prepped properly to install a mortised ADB.
  • For a surface mount ADB, Zero surface mount door bottoms can be used when the door has not been mortised.

What Size ADB To I Need
Below is general guidance.  Contact support if additional review is needed. 

  • Measure the width between the surfaces that the ADB will contact.
  • Deduct and thicknesses of any jamb seals or weatherstripping that may be used.
  • Subtract 1/8” from this dimension to allow for clearance.  
     
  • Zero ADB's can be ordered in 1/8" increments up to 96" long. 

 

What type of ratings are applicable?

Solutions may require considerations to sound,  smoke/fire, or  ADA requirements.
