How do I remotely manage my Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt with Apple HomeKit?

To enjoy the full functionality of the Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt, we recommend users pair their Schlage Encode Plus smart lock in both the Schlage Home app and Apple Home app to experience the benefits of these solutions together. The Schlage Home app allows for complete remote access management and push notifications without the need for an additional hub.   

 

But we understand you may be interested in only pairing your lock with Apple Home which requires the following to remotely access if it is the only app you select to pair your lock with.  

 

  1. A Schlage Encode Plus Smart Lock that is: 
    • Paired to your Apple Home app  
    • Powered with four AA batteries 
  2. An Apple home hub (such as an Apple TV, Home Pod): 
    • Paired to your Apple Home app 
    • Powered on 
    • Active home / local WiFi network signal paired to your home hub device through your Apple Home app 
  3. An iPhone that has: 
    • The Apple Home app with Resident / admin access to the Home you have the lock and home hub located in  
    • A connection to the internet via cellular or WiFi connection

These devices paired and connected will allow you to remotely lock/unlock, check status, and manage guest access. You will also be able to include your lock in an Apple home automation with the Apple home hub device and use Siri to lock and check status remotely with your voice.
