How do I pair my Schlage Encode Plus™ Smart Lock with Apple HomeKit?

To enjoy the full functionality of the Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt, we recommend users pair their Schlage Encode Plus smart lock in both the Schlage Home app and Apple Home app to experience the benefits of these solutions together. For the best experience with this approach, we recommend you start with the Schlage Home app. The Schlage Home app allows for: access code schedules, lock history, and remote access management and push notifications without the need for an additional hub.  

But we understand you may be interested in only pairing the lock with Apple Home so see the steps below, and always know you can add Schlage Home access anytime you would like.  

1. Press the button as shown in the image below. Your lock will be in pairing mode for 5 minutes.


For iPhone XS and newer
2. Tap the top of your iPhone to the HomeKit label. Follow the directions on your phone. If this doesn't work right away, try pairing using the 8 digit HomeKit setup code (printed on the label) in the Apple Home app.


Note: Your lock must be fully installed on door with batteries before pairing with an app. The pairing button must have been pressed within 5 minutes of pairing.

To use home keys, iPhone XS or later and iOS 15 or later and Apple Watch Series 4 or later with watchOS 8 or later are required.

For iPhone 7 - iPhone X
1. Open Apple Home app and press "+" and Add Accessory. Follow directions on your phone.

2. Tap the top of your phone to the HomeKit label when directed, as shown in the picture above. If this doesn't work right away, try pairing using the 8 digit HomeKit setup code in the Apple Home app.
 

For older than iPhone 7 or iPad

1. Open the Apple Home app and press "+" to Add Accessory. Follow directions.

2. Scan the HomeKit QR code label on the back of the Quick Start Guide when directed.
