How to Pair my Schlage Encode Plus Smart Lock with Apple HomeKit?

To enjoy the full functionality of the Schlage Encode Plus Smart Wi-Fi Deadbolt, we recommend users pair their Schlage Encode Plus smart lock in both the Schlage Home app and Apple Home app to experience the benefits of these solutions together. For the best experience with this approach, we recommend you start with the Schlage Home app. The Schlage Home app allows for: access code schedules, lock history, and remote access management and push notifications without the need for an additional hub.  For more information, click here.

But we understand you may be interested in only pairing the lock with Apple Home so see the steps below, and always know you can add Schlage Home access anytime you would like.  

To Pair the Encode Plus with Apple HomeKit:

Note: An Apple Home Hub is required to pair the Encode Plus to HomeKit without first pairing to the Schlage Home app.

Additionally: Your lock must be fully installed on door with batteries before pairing with an app. The pairing button must have been pressed within 5 minutes of pairing.

1. Press the button on the back of your lock.
   Your lock will remain in pairing mode for 5 minutes.
   
2. Tap the top of your iPhone to the HomeKit label. This should prompt your phone to add the accessory to HomeKit.
   
3. Follow the directions on your phone.

If the Above Pairing Method is Unsuccessful: 

1. Open Apple Home app
2. Press "+" and Add Accessory.
3. Follow directions on your phone.
4. Tap the top of your phone to the HomeKit label when directed.
   

If this doesn't work immediately:

Try pairing the lock using the 8-digit HomeKit setup code (printed on the User Guide) in the Apple Home app.
