Programming Key Initialization process:
To initialize the Programming Key for a Programmable Electronic Deadbolt you must be prepared to program the deadbolt with user access information. See your software documentation for information on how to “Generate Program Files” if necessary.
Connect the battery to a new lock “out of the box” or one that has been RESET
Note: You should see the “Schlage” button flash green and red for a few seconds. This is the indication that the deadbolt has been powered up and is not currently programmed.
With the latch bolt retracted, present the Red Programming credential to the deadbolt and observe that the deadbolt goes into Programming Mode.
Note: You should see the “Schlage” button flash green and red for a few seconds.
Use your programming device (SNAP Programmer, Pocket PC or Laptop) to program the deadbolt with its name and user access information.
Once the programming is successfully completed, the deadbolt is now initialized to accept ONLY that Red Programming Key.
