How can I fix my B60N deadbolt if the thumb turn is hard to turn?

Pressure in the thumbturn can be caused for a few different reasons, to troubleshoot start by locating the source of the pressure.

  1. Uninstall the lock and interact with the components individually until you isolate the cause of the pressure
  2. If the pressure is coming from the latch then a new latch will need to be installed.
  3. If the pressure is coming from the cylinder or the drive bar, then a replacement cylinder will be needed.
  4. If the thumb turn has developed a resistance to turning due to the internal washer or retaining clip slipping, causing it to rub against the screw; unfortunately, there is no fix for this and the lock in its entirety will have to be replaced under the mechanical warranty.
