How can I control my Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt (BE499) remotely?

All Schlage Encode locks feature built-in Wi-Fi compatibility that makes pairing to your home / local Wi-Fi network extremely easy and does not require any extra smart home hubs when paired through the Schlage Home app. 

 

To control your lock remotely, you need: 

  1. A Schlage Encode Smart Lock that is: 
    • Paired to the Schlage Home app  
    • Paired and connected to your home/local Wi-Fi network 
    • Powered with four AA batteries 
  2. A smartphone that has: 
    • The Schlage Home app installed  
    • A connection to the internet via cellular or Wi-Fi connection 

With these devices paired and connected, you can have peace of mind from anywhere by knowing you can manage your lock in real time: 

  • Lock and unlock your door from anywhere  
  • Create and schedule unique access codes
